Untitled document Sooner or later any company producing knives has to face the theme of the dagger, that extremely specialised tool that represents the tradition of the European weapon, it is as elegant and refined as it is efficient. The handle is fairly short to allow a dynamic change from a "sabre grip" to a "reverse grip", the forward lying cutting edge allows a "reverse" handling that is close to the wrist, with the pressure of the thumb on the blade, the index finger passes over the hilt to transform the grip to "sub hilt". The slightly pronounced hilt is rounded to avoid entangling during the close combat. This dagger represents an achievement of maturity in the "Praetoriana project". About eighty of these knives have been produced, the handle derives in turn from the "Tuscania" knife, an asymmetric double edged bowie privately commissioned by some members of the omonima unit (there are around 350 pieces in existence but the exact design cannot be divulged). The handle has been modified to be compatible with the new automatic hard sheath. The hilt guard has been rounded. An interesting alternative to the Praetorian is the II T version, which substitutes the classic spear design with a "gladio" tip. This device allows the dagger to be used as a multipurpose tool without affecting the sharpness of the point, which according to our research is necessary in order to maintain its perforating capacity.
