We have received several requests for a 1911 style pistol with as thin a grip as possible. The reasons vary from something that is easier to grip for more control, smaller hands, or something for ladies to use. Based on these requests we are proud to introduce our collaboration with Richard Heinie: the new Lady Hawk.
In order to "test the waters" on this new model, we took it to the 2008 SHOT Show to get a feel for the what the dealers thought. (The SHOT Show is an annual event put on by the National Shooting Sports Foundation that is open only to manufacturers and dealers). Richard Heinie accompanied us for the introduction, and it was a resounding success generating more orders than we ever dreamed for one event.
The first thing we were asked was "Can I get it without the Lady Hawk model name on it?". True to our policy of letting you customize your gun to your desire, we happily answered "yes". We recapped our orders after the close of the show, and realized that over 90% of them had made this request, so we have decided not to put "Lady Hawk" on the slide unless you specify you would like it.
Apparently it made a big hit with the male shooters too. (The good news guys is that this helps to talk the wife into buying another gun).
